NOTICE TO GYA GENERAL MEMBER CLUBS

 

2008 CAPDEVIELLE CHALLENGER DIVISION COMPETITION

 

1.  Introduction - During 2007, the GYA conducted a “trial run” for the “Capdevielle Challenger Division Competition” under a draft “Appendix H” of the GYA Regulations.  During the GYA Board of Directors meeting held 1/13/08, “Appendix H” was adopted for inclusion in the GYA Regulations, making the competition official for 2008 and beyond.

 

2.  Appendix H may be viewed on the GYA home page upper right corner at gya.org.

 

3.  As per Appendix H, the competition has four divisions: Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana (including Houston YC & Grand Maumelle YC).

 

4.  For 2008, clubs eligible for these division competitions are as follows (see H2 of Appendix H):

5.  For the above clubs, competing in the following regattas is mandatory in order to be eligible for scoring (see H4 of Appendix H & also #6 below):

6.  In addition, clubs listed in #4 above must also compete in at least one of the following “Optional Pool Regattas” (see H4):  GYA Opening, Junior Lipton, Knost, Lipton, and Sugar Bowl Race of Champions.

 

7.  Division Winners will receive awards during the GYA Awards Banquet to be held in January, 2009.

 

8.  Refer questions to your favorite Capdevielle Committee member.
