Handicap Educational Webinars

The GYA Handicap Committee will be hosting a series of webinars to introduce sailors to ORR-Ez and assist race committees with how to use the new ratings in their events.

All of the webinars will be recorded and will be posted here for those who cannot attend.

Introduction to ORR-Ez

This webinar hosted by the GYA Handicap Committee will introduce the concepts around a VPP-based rating system, what is ORR-Ez, and how it’s being applied to the GYA to handle ratings moving forward in 2025. Also, instructions on how to apply for your certificate in 2025.

Racing under ORR-Ez

This webinar will focus on the details of racing under ORR-Ez. We will discuss topics such as determining target boat speed numbers from the certificate, how to compare two or more boats when racing, and the specifics of the different methods of applying the ratings (ToT, ToD, PCS)
